Rock the Hypocrisy

RocktheHypocrisy.jpgIf there was any doubt in years past about whether Rock the Vote was truly a “non-partisan” organization, it’s been extinguished this year with their efforts to thwart Social Security reform. This group that supposedly represents the youth vote is joining forces with AARP to soak the younger generation. What is it that Rock the Vote wants for young Americans? The continuation of the New Deal, tax-and-spend relic that promises America's youth soaring tax rates and meager benefits at retirement. Along with their liberal brethren, they are attempting to convince the MTV generation that Social Security is “retro-chic” – in other words, it’s very cool to pour your money into a financially unsustainable system and get little back in return. But there’s another group that's getting ready to expose Rock the Vote's hypocrisy. Americans for Prosperity is organizing a protest called Rock the Hypocrisy. The protest is tonight, June 8, starting at 5:30 pm outside the National Building Museum at the corner of 4th and G Streets, NW. Afterwards, they’re hosting a reception at My Brother’s place, 237 2nd Street NW. All the details are available here. Supporters of reform should come out to support this effort to expose just how out of touch Rock the Vote is with its supposed constituency.
