The DeMint Week Ahead

This upcoming week is going to be all about Senator Jim DeMint's new Social Security bill. His proposal, which he plans to formally introduce on Tuesday, would take the current Trust Fund surplus and put it into individual personal accounts. These accounts would then become "lockboxes", holding only treasuries (no stocks), and forcing the government to finance other programs without raiding Social Security to pay for them.
