Snow Storm Warning Issued for the Capitol
This Wednesday the 13th at noon the Capitol will be covered with snow, snowmen and snow cones! Students will be gathering at the Capitol in support of personal accounts and will be participating in some snow-themed theatrics. Students for Saving Social Security will call on members of the Senate Finance Committee to sign a pledge promising not to continue raiding Social Security. After calling on the Senators to sign the pledge, members of the group will be meeting with Senate Staff to discuss personal accounts. The imagery will be powerful as SSSS ships in three thousand pounds of snow and ice to the Upper Senate Park. Snow and ice will be melting throughout the day symbolizing how Congress is allowing young Americans’ retirements to quickly disappear. Snow Storm Location: Upper Senate Park (Senate side of the Capitol) Time: Noon - Meet for free snow cones 12:30pm - Short press conference 1:00pm - Meetings with Senators Rooftop After Party Location: Rooftop of 1700 Pennsylvania, directly overlooking the White House.
